Pier, boulevard, and the estuary

Imperial Beach is the southwest corner of the county, on the sand. Seacoast Drive and the pier are the beach. Imperial Beach Boulevard runs inland from there. The Tijuana River estuary is on the south side of town, and the Silver Strand runs north toward Coronado. These are ordinary street serves at the metro price. Standard coverage. Four attempts. No rural surcharge. The city is small. A few blocks inland is still Imperial Beach, not a different rate. Seacoast Drive is the beachfront, with the pier in the middle and short side streets running inland. Imperial Beach Boulevard is the main east-west road toward Chula Vista. The estuary on the south side has roads that look close on a map and are not residential doors. Do not list a trailhead or a park lot as the serve address unless the person is actually there. Most serves are houses and low apartment buildings a few blocks off the sand. Summer pier traffic is real. A note with a unit number and a time of day is more useful than a note that only says the beach.

The nearest court is the South County Division in Chula Vista. That is a short drive east. The Central Division downtown is a longer trip up the strand or around through Chula Vista and the 5. For this city, South County is nearest. There is no Imperial Beach office. The business address is Mission Valley in San Diego.

What you pay a server to do

A server at the door is what the in-person price pays for. Same day is $195 and the first attempt is that business day. Next day is $175. Standard costs $150 and the first attempt is scheduled inside three days. Four attempts are included. You also get notes and a proof of service. If the attempts are used without service, the document is a declaration of due diligence. If you are self-represented in a San Diego County case, the proof of service/declaration is mailed to the court. If your court is not a San Diego County court, the proof comes back to you to file.
