What this office does
Rockstar Process Serving is a licensed and bonded process server for San Diego County. The office is at 3111 Camino Del Rio North, Suite 400A, San Diego, CA 92108. We serve civil papers in person, by email, and by mail. We also file and retrieve court documents, search for an address, and wait at a location when you add a stakeout.
We do not practice law. We do not tell you which method a court will accept, and we do not promise a result. You choose the service. We carry it out and write down what happened. If you are not sure which line fits, call 619-399-3278 or email rockstarprocessserving@gmail.com.
Three speeds for a door serve
In-person service has three prices. Same day service of process is $195, and the first attempt is the same day. Next day is $175, and the first attempt is by the next day. Standard is $150, and the first attempt is within 1–3 days. Each of those prices includes four attempts at the address you provide. A witness fee is the check written to that person. The order adds 8% or $4.00, whichever is greater.
For self-represented people, we mail the proof of service/declaration to San Diego County courts and send you a copy. If the case belongs in another court, or someone else is filing, we email or mail the proof of service/declaration back to you. An extra person at the same address is $40 on these three in-person serves only.
Email, First-Class, and certified mail
Email service is $60. The documents go out by email the same day the order is placed, and one attempt is included. USPS First-Class mail is $60. Certified mail is $75. Both are mailed the same day if you submit the order before 12PM PST. If you submit it after that, we may mail them the next business day.
First-class postage may apply when the packet is over 35 pages. On certified mail, say whether a green signature return receipt or standard return receipt is required. A mailing is not a set of door attempts. It does not include the four visits that come with same day, next day, or standard service. Read the mail page before you add it.
Courts, searches, and waiting
Court filing and retrieval is $250 the same day, $200 the next day, and $150 on the standard schedule. A drop or department box is $150, $115, or $70 on those same clocks. Filing, certification, and copy fees are separate from that trip price. When Rockstar advances them, the order adds 8% or $4.00, whichever is greater.
Basic skip tracing is $50 per individual. Comprehensive skip tracing is $200 per individual. If the search returns no results, the fee is refunded in full. There is no refund when it returns addresses that are out of date, and no guarantee a current residence exists. A stakeout is an add-on at $80 per hour with a two-hour minimum, not a separate order. A military base add-on is $65.
Hours, rural miles, and small fees
The office is open Mon–Fri, 7am–5pm PST. Orders placed after closing are processed the next business day. A same-day label means the day we work the file, not a clock that runs past 5pm. Mail has its own cutoff: noon, not closing time. An order at 2pm is still inside office hours, and we may mail it the next business day.
Service attempts are also made outside of these office hours.
Rural outlying towns are $45 and three attempts instead of four. Those towns are Jamul, Alpine, Ramona, Fallbrook, Lakeside, Valley Center, and Bonsall. Extra-rural back country is $100 and two attempts. Call the office before you order an extra-rural address. Printing is $.30 per page after the first 40 pages. A specific date and time is $30. An additional case is $30. Notarization is $40 per signature.
