Jamul process server
Highway 94, not a downtown grid
Jamul is unincorporated. There is no city hall downtown and no numbered grid to call a center. The commercial corner most people mean is Highway 94 at Steele Canyon Road. Around that are ranch parcels, hills, and long driveways. Jamul is rural coverage. Add $45, and plan on three attempts rather than four. Highway 94 is a two-lane road with curves. Steele Canyon Road is the commercial corner. Honey Springs and the ranch roads off the highway are where a lot of the houses actually are. Driveways are long. A server who only has 'Jamul' and a last name is not ready to attempt. Put the street, the gate, and a description of the entrance. Three attempts at the wrong ranch are the whole job. There is no city grid to cruise. East County in El Cajon is the nearest courthouse, and it is a drive, not a neighbor across the street. Chula Vista is the other direction, on the metro price, and it is a different page.
The prices before the surcharge are $195 same day, $175 next day, and $150 standard. With the $45, a standard serve is $150 plus $45. Same day is $195 plus $45. Next day is $175 plus $45. A standard-plus-rural total of $195 is easy to confuse with the same-day base, so read the receipt before you pay. Among the four divisions, East County in El Cajon is the nearest. South County in Chula Vista is the other candidate because Jamul sits toward the south, but El Cajon is closer. Central downtown is farther. We are naming the nearest courthouse, not telling you where to file. The only office is in Mission Valley. Jamul is a drive out the 94. There is no local desk.
Rural attempts, still in person
In person means a server makes the trip to the address. Same day starts with an attempt the business day we accept the order. Next day starts by the next day. Standard starts within one to three days. Three attempts, notes, and a proof of service are included. If the person is not served, you get a declaration of due diligence. Self-represented San Diego County cases have the proof of service/declaration mailed to the court. Other courts get the proof returned to the customer. You can submit Jamul on the order form. A call first is not required for this tier.
The phone is 619-399-3278, Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm PST. The company is licensed and bonded. After hours, processing waits until the next business day.
Service attempts are also made outside of these office hours.
From Jamul
Book on the order page. Same-day process serving covers the $195 base before the rural line. The proof of service guide covers mailing. The areas page lists the tiers. Chula Vista is west, at the metro price, with the South County courthouse. Alpine is northeast, also $45, up on I-8.
