How does service on a military base work?
Service on a San Diego County military base is a $65 add-on to an in-person serve, not a separate kind of attempt. Base approval has to be arranged before the server can try the address. If that approval cannot be arranged, the $65 add-on is refunded. Rockstar does not control base access and does not promise that a command will allow the attempt.
You still choose same day, next day, or standard service for the underlying job. Same day is $195, next day is $175, and standard is $150. The add-on sits on top of that price. Call 619-399-3278 Monday through Friday, 7am–5pm PST, if you are not sure the address is inside a base gate. The office is at 3111 Camino Del Rio North, Suite 400A, San Diego, CA 92108.
Service attempts are also made outside of these office hours.
The add-on and the serve under it
Add military base service to the in-person job. It is $65. It does not replace the serve, and it does not change the attempt count by itself. Same day, next day, and standard still include four attempts once the work is underway at an address that can be approached. A rural or extra-rural address keeps that area's own attempt count: three attempts at $45 more, or two attempts at $100 more.
Same day process serving still means the first attempt is scheduled for the same day the order starts. A base will not be entered without approval, so the attempt cannot happen until that approval is in place. An order placed after 5pm PST is processed the next business day. If you need a named window after approval, a specific time is $30. Waiting at a location is a stakeout at $80 per hour, two-hour minimum, with no promise the person will be there.
What to send before anyone asks the base
Put the base address, the person named in the papers, and any unit or building detail you actually have on the order. Upload the documents with that job. Do not leave the address as only the name of the installation if you have a street or a building. The more specific the location, the clearer the approval request. Rockstar will not invent a unit number for you.
If the person might be in civilian housing off the base, say so. An off-base San Diego County address is a normal serve and does not need the military add-on. If you only have a name and no address, a skip trace is a different product, at $50 or $200 per person, and it does not get anyone onto a base. There is no guarantee a current residence exists in skip-trace data.
If approval cannot be arranged
The $65 military add-on is refunded if base approval cannot be arranged. That is the stated refund. It is not a prediction that the base will say yes, and it is not a statement about what a court will do if the attempt never happens. Ask the office what was refunded on your order rather than assuming every line on the receipt comes back.
If the attempt does not go forward, you will not receive a proof of completed service for a delivery that did not occur. Read the how many attempts guide for what an attempt budget means once a job is actually in the field. The what to include in an order guide covers the fields that should be filled in before you pay, including a note that the address is on a base.
How to place the order
Start on the order form, choose the in-person turnaround, and add the military base add-on on that job. Incarceration is not this product. Someone in custody is a separate service, with a first attempt in one to three days and four attempts, and that request is not on the order form.
The FAQ has a short note on base service. Use the contact form to send a building number or a gate instruction that does not fit a single address line. Call 619-399-3278 during office hours when you want to confirm the add-on is on the job before you pay. Licensed and bonded service in the county still depends on the base allowing the attempt.
How much is service on a military base?
The military base add-on is $65, on top of same day service at $195, next day service at $175, or standard service at $150. The add-on does not replace those prices. Base approval is required before an attempt on the base. Call during Monday through Friday, 7am–5pm PST, if you are unsure the address is on a base.
Service attempts are also made outside of these office hours.
What if the base will not approve the attempt?
The $65 military base add-on is refunded if base approval cannot be arranged. Rockstar does not control that approval and does not promise the base will allow entry. A proof of service is prepared for a completed delivery, not for an attempt the base did not allow.
Does the military add-on include its own attempts?
No. The add-on is $65 on an in-person serve. Same day, next day, and standard service include four attempts once the work can proceed at the address. Rural addresses include three, and extra-rural addresses include two. Approval still has to come before a base attempt.
